Welcome to Saylio! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Saylio platform, including our website, mobile applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using Saylio, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Saylio, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using Saylio on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Saylio is an AI-powered personal assistant that helps you organize your life through voice recordings. Our Service includes:

  • Voice recording and transcription
  • AI-powered extraction of expenses, tasks, meetings, and goals
  • Personal data organization and insights
  • Behavioral analytics and recommendations
  • Data export and integration capabilities

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.2 Account Security

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.

3.3 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Subscription Plans and Billing

4.1 Plan Tiers

Saylio offers multiple subscription tiers:

  • Free Plan: Limited features with usage restrictions
  • Pro Plan: Enhanced features and higher usage limits
  • Power Plan: Premium features including advanced integrations

4.2 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the applicable fees.

4.3 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or billing portal.

4.4 Price Changes

We may change our pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

5. Usage Limits and Fair Use

Each subscription tier has specific usage limits for recordings, storage, and AI processing. We reserve the right to enforce fair use policies and may throttle or suspend service for excessive usage that impacts system performance.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to use Saylio to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use the Service for harassment, spam, or fraudulent purposes
  • Share your account with others or resell access to the Service
  • Scrape, data mine, or extract data using automated tools
  • Record conversations without proper consent where required by law

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Rights

Saylio, including our logo, design, software, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

7.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to Saylio, including voice recordings and transcriptions. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and analyze your content to provide the Service and improve our AI models.

7.3 AI-Generated Content

Insights, summaries, and recommendations generated by our AI are provided for your personal use. You may use this content for personal purposes but may not redistribute or commercialize it.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

9. Third-Party Services

Saylio integrates with third-party services including:

  • Anthropic Claude (AI processing)
  • Google Gemini (AI extraction)
  • Deepgram (voice transcription)
  • Paddle and Razorpay (payment processing)
  • Notion, Obsidian (optional integrations)

Your use of these integrations is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or their practices.

10. Data Storage and Retention

We store your data securely using Supabase infrastructure. Voice recordings are stored in cloud storage, and structured data is stored in encrypted databases. We retain your data as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, data is permanently removed within 30 days, except as required by law.

11. Beta Features

Saylio is currently in beta. Beta features may be incomplete, contain bugs, or change without notice. We make no warranties regarding beta features and may discontinue them at any time.

12. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

12.1 Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.

12.2 AI Accuracy

AI-generated extractions, insights, and recommendations are provided for informational purposes only. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI outputs. You are responsible for verifying AI-generated content before relying on it for important decisions.

12.3 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Saylio and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Saylio, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

14. Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14.2 Arbitration

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if they qualify.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

16. Export Compliance

You agree to comply with all applicable export control laws and regulations. You may not use the Service in countries subject to U.S. embargo or trade restrictions.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Saylio regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
